A ten-point schedule, with names and times for every employee. It landed in my inbox a few days before the shoot at Staffanstorps Centrum, and honestly, it made me a little happy. It is not often the client has done half the job before I even arrive.
Staffanstorps Centrum is the parent company of the municipality's own companies in Staffanstorp, between Malmö and Lund: Kommunfastigheter, Fibernät and Energi. The assignment came through JS Sverige and covered photography and film for a digital brochure and a film about the group.
Most of what they do is invisible. A fibre cable in the ground, switchgear behind a locked door, a key that has to reach the right building. So we photographed the people instead. Customer service in the reception at Kometen, the key cabinet at the property company, the fibre racks in a node and, last of all, the switchgear at Östra station with my namesake Daniel from Energi.
We had four hours, and I shot stills and film in the same pass. Most of the people in front of the camera don't do this every day, but it didn't show for long. The day after, the communications officer sent me pictures of me in action that she had posted on their intranet. It is not often I end up on that side of the camera.
JS Sverige put the film and the brochure together, and they turned out really well.
I am happy to photograph and film for municipalities and municipal companies across Skåne, from Malmö and Lund to Hässleholm.
